My Garden
The clouds are high and the sun is warm The butterflies hover and the honey bees swarm The sunflowers follow the heat filled rays And the pansies awaken to the morning haze I sit amidst the green lush glow Seeing colours that rival a bright rainbow I have peace and joy and remember who Gave me His love and my garden too Thank you Lord My Rendition of Psalm Three
A Psalm of David when he fled from Absalom his son It may be said from sinful tongues Even screamed from breath filled lungs 'From God there is not help for him, His life is looking rather grim' But in my heart, I know what's true My protective shield is You You lift my head and hear my cry From Your holy hill on high In peace I lay, in quiet sleep Your love and sustenance I reap I need not fear the hostile mass Who invade like smoke-filled gas You arise and save me Lord You win my battles by Your Sword My enemies You smite and break The spiritual victory You take Salvation is a three twined cord Your blessing is upon me Lord What is Love?
‘What is love?’ he might ask, and to him I would reply, It’s saying you’re not hungry when there’s only one piece of pie. It’s encouraging with ‘well done’ when an obvious lack can be seen, It’s reminding her in rollers that she’s the only woman in your dreams. It’s patience when she’s slow and kindness when she’s grumpy, Perseverance when she wants to quit when the road is rough and bumpy. Love is not a word but an action fuelled by thought. True love is greater than any prize that may be highly sought. |
A Saviour True
A miracle started one starry night, A cry, a breath and there was light. The shepherds came to witness You, The Son of Man, a saviour true. Though You worked with Your hands, You knew Your destiny, the plans. The path the Father chose for You, The surrendered Son, a saviour true. You preached, You healed and You forgave, You loved the lost and showed the way. You challenged those, who thought they knew, The perfect Lamb, a saviour true. Then sacrifice and lots were cast, Our sin You bore, His judgement passed. The pain and shame, what You went through, The law fulfilled, a saviour true. You rose, in glory You are dressed, How can I repay Your amazing bequest? A debt forever, so I give to You, All that I have to a saviour true. My Rendition of Psalm One
The Way of the Righteous and the End of the Ungodly Yes I am blessed, and do not fear Ungodly help, I do not hear Nor stand on paths, with those that sin Nor sit in seats, with scornful din And in His word, I so delight I meditate, both day and night Strengthened, as a watered tree Laden with fruit, prosperous and free For worldly lost, it is not so They blow like chaff, both to and fro In His judgement, they’ll not stand Unlike the righteous, in His hand For God knows well, the righteous soul Ungodly choose their own control Marriage
We danced in the sun as it shone down its rays, We danced in the rain and its fine misty haze. We danced on the roof tops so high in the air, We danced in the allies so dark with despair. We danced full of joy and full of thanksgiving, We danced when exhausted and tired of living. When the music died down and when heaven we glanced, Our marriage complete and we're so glad we danced. |
God loves You
When the day is raining and you wanted sun When the car won’t start and you need to run When you thought the dishes had all been done Just remember God loves you When there’s work to do and no time for fun When the kitchen’s a mess left by your son When you reach for coffee but there is none Just remember God loves you When your TV show is an old rerun When you ordered peach but got a strawberry bun When you get dressed up but your shoe’s undone Just remember God loves you My Rendition of Psalm Two
The Messiah’s Triumph and Kingdom People rage and speak their mind They plot and plan, a contract signed On a throne, they sit as king Then join with others, and voices ring They talk against almighty God And take to his people with a rod Yet in heaven, a laugh is heard God knows their scheming is absurd No pleasure rises to His ear When noise of selfishness is near A Saviour King, His plan was set On Zion’s hill, would pay the debt God declared, ‘My Son, the Way Your inheritance, I’ll pay And you shall break them with a rod Like shattered glass that’s marred and flawed’ Spoken then to kings, self made Serve the Lord and don’t be swayed Be instructed, hear with your ear Rejoice with trembling and fear Kiss the Son, O sad and grim Blessed are those who trust in Him Love is all we need
Love's like a blanket that keeps you warm, Love's like a shelter when there is a storm. Love's like a cool gently breeze, Love's like a puppy wanting to please. Love's like a mountain strong and secure, Love's like a honey so sweet and so pure. Love is all we really need, Not lust nor hate nor anger nor greed. |
